I’d like to monetize my account through affiliate marketing, but I’m a total beginner, which is why I hope you can give me some pointers on where to start. My blog is about gadgets, laptops, and all things PC.
At the moment, I’m working on filling my blog with useful content. I write reviews with benchmarks since I already have some experience in this field. My acquaintances recommend creating a YouTube channel and doing vlogs, but I’m camera-shy, so that’s out of the question. I’m not an Instagram chick to look good on camera, either. So, creating my own YouTube channel is a no-go, even though I love good professional cameras and photography.
I’m more into putting my words on paper rather than talking, which is why creating a blog with reviews seemed like a no-brainer. Now that I’ve made it and written quite a few articles with content that I think will be helpful to many, I realized that I need to attract my target audience somehow to monetize my efforts.
I’ve done some research, and I understand that I need to boost my organic traffic to attract potential readers and affiliate partners, hopefully, the brands I’m writing about. I’ve tried to do on-page SEO by installing a plugin, but the results are nothing to brag about. I guess I’m not good at it. That’s why I’m thinking of hiring professionals to do it.
The blog is a side project that I do as a hobby, so I’ve allocated some budget for its promotion and even found some companies offering to do everything, like https://sproutboxmedia.com/ and a couple of others. The question is whether it’s even worth doing? Can it bring actual traffic, or should I just optimize my content myself and not waste time and money hiring professionals? After all, I’m not selling anything, so conversion rates and sales funnels aren’t of interest to me.
I’d be very grateful for any tips and pointers on how I can boost my traffic, monetize my blog and find affiliate partners, given that my traffic is not that big at the moment.
Thanks in advance, guys!
